Special Blog Post

Freak The Mighty
Freak The Mighty, is the book I read for my book club. It is about how the main characters " Max and Kevin ". When they were in day care they were friends. But one day Kevin, or his nick name "Freak", did not come to day care one day, and Max never saw him again. Until one afternoon Max was in his backyard and saw a moving truck coming up in the driveway  next door, and it was Freak. He had crutches and was very short. Freak was disabled, his insides grow but his outside doesn't, that is why he is short. Later that day Freak went over Max's house, but went home early because his mother got terrified that she didn't find Freak int the backyard where he was suppose to be.

After that everything was good. Later throughout the book, Max and Freak go on allot quests ( that's what Freak calls theres adventures). On one of their " Quests" Freak showed Max a hospital. Freak told Max that in that in that  hospital Dr. Spivak  will be making a robot body for him. Which meant the doctor would replace his body for a robot body, but it will work exactly like a regular body, but it just takes time to get used to and how to control.  Everyday they would be going on these journeys, and one of them was going to the park, to celebrate Fourth of July, by watching the fireworks. But what happened was while the fireworks ended, Tony D and his gang were talking to Freak and Max, but seemed like they wanted to start something. So as Max put Freak on his shoulders, Freak directed Max where to run so Tony D and his gang wouldn't catch up to them. But Max has only then noticed he had stepped in the mud, and started to sink, and Tony D and his gang started to throw rocks at them but did not succeed. After that the cops came and stopped all the nonsense.

But then came Christmas Eve. Everything started just fine. Grim, Gram ( Max's grandparents ), Freak, and the Fair Gwen ( Freak's nick name fro his mother ) all went over Max's house for Christmas Eve. But on the night of Christmas Eve when Max went to sleep, he felt this cold breeze ( he lives in the basement and calls it "the down under" ) but the only cold breeze he felt was of someone breathing. It was his father. His father was sent to jail for killing his wife, Max's mother. He takes Max under a streetlight an talks to him. Next he takes him to Loretta Lee's and Iggy's house ( people from the town ), and Killer Kane ( Max's father's nick name ) tied Max up to him just to make sure he wouldn't run away. But instead Iggy took them into an old Lady's abandoned house, the cops almost caught them so Killer Kane took Max to an old burned Testament building. He tied up Max to a pipe, while waiting for Iggy to rent him a car so Max and him could live together on the road.

A few minutes later Max heard some foot steps. It was Loretta Lee. Last time him and Freak accidentally found her purse and she was really fresh with them and so was Iggy. But as she pointed the light from her flashlight on Max, she told him she was here to help him get out while Iggy distracted Killer Kane with the car. As soon as she finished untying him, Killer Kane came right from behind her and started choking her to death! He kept squeezing her neck so hard every time, it seemed as if he was sucking the light out of her very slowly. As soon as Max saw his dad do that he had a flashback remembering that it was his dad who killed his mom. He remembers what he was wearing, and how he choked her, and ended up killing her! Max got up quickly and started telling him to stop, and tried to take his hands off Loretta, but his dad was so strong that he couldn't. So  he started yelling " I know you killed mom daddy ", " Stop it your going to kill her!". Max kept repeating how he saw how his dad killed his mom. As soon as Killer Kane heard that he grabbed Max by the neck, it was if he was choking him too! But then cam Freak out of no where. Killer Kane released Max. Freak said that his water gun was filled with a colorless acid. Killer Kane believed him. But as soon as Freak sprayed him in the eyes, Killer Kane started rubbing them so hard. But it was actually water, vinegar, and Currey powder in the water gun. Freak has saved Max's life. Loretta was alive but sent to the hospital. Max had bruises on his neck, so went to the Hospital and back to the police station.

Everyone was so terrified of what had happened. Freaks mom was mad because he also could have gotten into danger. But now Max has to sleep upstairs fro safety. That night Grim got a call saying that Killer Kane has been plead guilty, and will be in prison for 10 years. It was Freaks Birthday now. And he had a Birthday party with Max, Grim, Gram, and his mom. Freak didn't eat much, he also didn't eat his cake that much. But when he saw the lap top that he really wanted, that Max gave him, he started showing Grim how to play 3D chess, while everyone else helped clean up in the kitchen. But after a few minutes Grim yelled " Freak!", and they all knew that wasn't a good sign. When they went into the living room. Gwen ( Freak's mom ) said he was having a seizure. At that minute they dialed 9-11.

When Max went to go visit Freak he had to go through allot of doors and hallways to get to him. When he went into his room he just saw Freak lying there on the bed with tubes that went into him. Freak gave Max a new book. But it was empty. Freak has told Max before he had to leave, to fill this book with all their adventures written inside of it. When Max went home he woke up early enough the next morning to go visit Freak and come back home just in time for breakfast. When he got into the hospital, and into the room where they kept Freak. There were a bunch of nurses crying everywhere he looked. Finally one of them came up to Max and ask if he was Max. and when he said yes. The nurse just left crying. He could already tell what had happened. He went running through the halls to get to his room. He broke a glass window in order to get there, but couldn't brake through a regular door. Cops came around him, and finally Dr. Spivak came to him and started talking to him. Max had asked her why she used him for the robot body. She told him that Freak only said hat so you wouldn't worry. He looked up his disorder in his Dictionary and knew he wasn't going to live a long life. His heart has gotten to big for his body.

Max was really upset. He didn't go to the funeral, or said bye to Gwen who has moved to California and has a boyfriend now. But he came outside one day and saw Loretta Lee. She was wearing a neck brace because of the injury. But she has told something to Max that changed his way of thinking. And before you knew it he felt better, and started writing the adventures Freak The Mighty has had ( Freak The Mighty is what they had called each other )

I recommend this book to readers who like drama, suspense, and mysterious books. I really liked it. In the beginning it was hard to understand, but as you read through it you'll understand it better.

Disobeying Your Parents

It was a beautiful day outside, the sun was out, the birds were chirping, and I had planned to go to the park with my friends. After I finished my homework and ate dinner, I asked my mom if I could hangout with my friends. " I don't know, maybe " said my mom with a little annoyed tone in her voice. " But I need an answer now " I responded in a bratty voice. I stomped my feet against the carpet on my way to my room. Under my breath I whispered to myself  *Its not fare, I haven't gone out all week, and I'm bored at home right now*. I was so frustrated with my mom that day I didn't feel like talking to her. After i took my shower, I kept asking my mom why i couldn't hangout with my friends. She kept saying the same thing. " Because I told you that you cant hangout ". I didn't want to hear no for answer, but shes my mom so I had to listen to her. But all I did for the rest of the night is keep asking WHY... At 8:00 or so I asked my mom one last time. I was surprised when she said I could. I literally felt my frown turn upside down.

When I came back home, I told my mom I was sorry. I felt bad for what I did to make her upset. But now I know if my parents say I cant go or do something I should keep my mouth closed and just agree with them, no matter how much I want to do or go somewhere/ something. I also know not to get my mom or dad mad at me because then they take away some of my privileges. Now I will try to listen to them.

Milestone Number Four: Interrest

I love riding bikes as much as horseback- riding. Even though before, I had no friends that lived by me so we can race, I still had fun riding with my sister. Everyday I would ride my bike, but mom would make me come in at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m because that's when the mosquito's come out and bite you, leaving your skin itchy like an itchy wig. But I will never forget the first time I got my very first bike. I came home from school on a warm Friday afternoon. My mom told me to go outside. When I came outside I spotted a beautiful purple princess bike! The purple looked like the sky at twilight. I was only five when my uncle and dad brought my bike. They wanted to take off one training wheel so I can learn to ride a bike young and quick. But I refused to ride it, I would only ride it with both training wheels. But they would let me ride with both training wheels so I started shouting like a lion in the jungle. Tears ran down my face I could make a pool! My mom and sister tryed tricking me to go on it. When I did they took off the other training wheel. My uncle pushed me from behind, but I was shaking so hard I couldn't get a good grip on the handles so they shook too. I was so afraid it was like if I was in a horror movie that never ended. Finally when I hopped off the bike I ran into the house so I be as far away from the bike as possible. But now I know how to ride with no training wheels, and riding bikes is one of the things I like to do now.

Milestone Number Three: Person

In my eyes my mom is the best person ever. she really made an impact in my life. Shes the person that's really been through everything with me. I like it when my mom shows pictures of me when I was a baby, and when she tells the stories that go with the pictures. One of the pictures she's shown me were pictures of me when I was a baby on my 1st birthday. My first birthday was a big milestone for my mom. She has many reasons to remember it, but she told me she especially remembered my 1st birthday because everything was either decorated with Tweety or had Tweety on it. A milestone that I also remember is my dad and uncle bringing me my first bike. My mom and I remember my uncle taking off one training wheel, so I would learn how to ride it faster with no training wheels. But i was so scared, I started crying, yelling, and shaking.
I really look up to my mom. she always knows whats right from wrong when i do something. and everyday I learn a new lesson that my mom teaches me. I hope when I'm older i turn out to be just like my mom.

Milestone Number two: Place

Theres a school called Ben Franklin in Edison N.J. You can find many elementary schools in Edison but Ben Franklin is the best. My kindergarten classroom was big and full of surprises. It was big, with a playroom with everything that a kid wanted to have in it, and outside of the class it had cubbys where we can put our supplies, snacks, and lunch in it. I live right across from it now. Kindergarten was very special to me because it was the first school ever in my life, I had nap time, and the most special part is when I went into the play area one day and made my first friend. We got really close. It started with the Ben Franklin pajama party. My teacher gave us a form and we had to hand it in as soon as possible. But I  handed mine in to late. When my friend heard I couldn't go she whispered to me during reading time if i wanted to go with her. Later that day when I was home I asked my mom, and she said yes. I remember being very excited, and so does my mom.

When we arrived to the pajama party all you saw were teachers, students, and even the principal was in his pajamas. Every time we went into a different classroom we got treats. But I loved when the teachers handed us sugary sweet and sour candy in their rough colorful candy wrappers. I felt happy as pie knowing in my mind that I had a real friend. At  the end of the magical night I went home sleeping, and dreamed about how much fun I had at the Ben Franklin pajama party.

Milestone Number one: Battery controled dog

When I was 11 months old my sister got a battery controlled dig for Christmas. It was yellow with long black ears, and started to walk after you pressed the on button. This is a big milestone for my mom. She told me I started walking at 11 months old by chasing around my older sisters battery controlled dog. She remembers taking allot of pictures.
When I was 8 years old I remember asking my mom how I started to walk. she told me the same thing. But she also told me, that since I already knew how to walk, I would get on the battery controlled dog like a horse, and since it walked on its own it would take me around the house. But as I grew and gained weight it broke.
I know even though its broken and gone my mom will never forget how I started to walk by following a remote control dog.

Writers Block

These days I have had writers block. Writers block is when you have to write about a specific topic or what ever you want, but you dont know what to write about or how to start a good story. In class I would be looking around to see if I can get and idea of something to write. "Tippity Tap-Tippity Tap" went the sound of my pencil crashing against my desk while I look into space clueless about what I should write about. Also at the last minute is when some of us finally find something to write about but dont have enough time to write all of our ideas down, so you just rush through the whole thing. Writers block is something you dont want to get because it distracts you, so you decide to talk to your friend, and you just sit through the whole time you have to write.
I decided to write about writers block one day because I had it. So it wasnt so hard to write, except I started writing it at the last minute, but my teacher said it was a good topic. We may not notice it but if you ever have writers block you can always write about what your thinking through your mind at that moment. Even thoguh it might take you to react at the last minute, you atleast have a topic to write about at the end.

What The U.S.A Flag means to me

The U.S.A flag means everything to me. It reminds me of how we got our freedom. From the soldiers who fought for us in the war. The flag also reminds me of how we stand up every morning in class, look at the flag, and say the pledge of alligiance. At baseball games are where we all sing songs about our freedom, and about our flag to, not just in school.
Our flag will always be standing beutiful, and high, blowing in the air. This is why we respect our flag. For our freedom, for the soldiers who fought and had died for our freedom, and for us being Americans.

Special Blogpost

When autumn finally arrives in Edison leaves change from green to red, orange, and yellow. When i see orange leaves, they remind me of big orange pumpkins. In auttumn you can also go pumpkin picking to pick your favorite pumpkin. Which also reminds me of Halloween. Since Halloween is also in autumn, people pick there favorite pumpkins, carve a face on it at home, and put it outside for Halloween. Autumn is a really great season because ThanksGiving. ThanksGiving is where family and friends get together, around the table, and give thanks. The saying that reminds me of ThanksGiving is... " The fondest Memories Are Made When Gathered Around The Table". I hope you enjoyed this blog post i made.

Hold Your Horses!!!

Hello there! My name is Rosa and my passion is horseback riding. Horseback riding is my passion because it brings you closer to nature and when you ride on a horse you feel like you're flying on air. Some people don't like horseback rididng because they're scared. Well those people are wrong. Last time I went horseback riding I learned a new trick with my horse. I felt so accomplished when I landed it the first time. I wish more people would try to ride horses one day without being scared because if you're nervous the horse will feel that way too. So don't be scared. Are there any horseback riders out there???
